How to Discover Events on EventPin

EventPin gives you full control over how you explore local activities and upcoming plans. Follow this guide to learn how to navigate the map, apply filters, and customize your feed.

    Step 1: Navigating the Map

    1. Enable Location Services: We recommend allowing EventPin to access your location so the map automatically snaps directly to your current area.
    2. Pan & Zoom: If you’re exploring a different city or region, simply drag and zoom the map to your desired search location.
    3. Automatic Pin Loading: As you move the map, pins will update based on events in the new visible area and their upcoming start times.

Tip: To prevent map clutter and overloading, only a limited number of pins are shown at once. To explore even more local listings, switch to the List View. All events in the list view are sorted in soonest-first order.

Step 2: Refining Your Search with Filters

Narrow down your results to find exactly what you’re looking for:

    • Location Filter: Set a specific search distance around an address, city name, or ZIP code.
    • Category Filter: Select specific categories to hide irrelevant events.
      • Select or deselect entire categories along with all their subcategories with a single click.
      • Use the text search feature inside the selector to quickly find a specific category by name instead of scrolling through the list.
    • Date Filter:
      • Choose a Start Date to see all events occurring from that point forward.
      • Pick a Date Range to display only events taking place between specific start and end dates (ideal when planning trips or vacations!).
    • Age Filter: Set an age range based on who is attending with you to display only events that are age-appropriate for your entire group.

Step 3: Hiding & Unhiding Events

Keep your feed clean by hiding events you aren’t interested in seeing again:

    • To Hide an Event: Click the Hide icon in the top-right corner of an event in the list view, or open the event card’s extended menu and select Hide.
    • To Unhide an Event: If you accidentally hid an event, navigate to the Hidden Events menu to review your hidden list and click Unhide.
